Although I have been making money from Amazon’s affiliate program for years, it wasn’t until recently that I discovered other ways to leverage the platform to make money online.

How to Make Money on Amazon
1. Amazon Associates Program
One of the easiest ways to make money online with Amazon is through the Amazon Associates Program.
Amazon Associates is an affiliate program that pays a commission for referrals to products on their site.
If there is a product that you’ve used and would recommend, you can simply share your affiliate link with others and receive a commission if they purchase the item or something else from Amazon within a certain time frame.
Although you have to apply to be in the program, becoming an affiliate isn’t as hard as you think.
Amazon simply requires that you either have a website, mobile app, or established social media presence to apply. You can check out the requirements and apply here.
The amount of money that you can make from this affiliate program varies. It is based on the number of people who use your link if they purchase a product, and how much the product actually costs.
The commission is based on the product’s category and can be up to 10% of the product’s cost. You can also earn flat-rate fees when someone signs up for programs like Amazon Prime, Audible, or create a baby registry.
If you choose to become an affiliate, you’ll need to make sure that you’re in compliance with FTC rules on disclosing affiliate links.
2. Amazon Work from Home Jobs
If you’re looking for full or part-time Amazon work-from-home jobs, then there’s plenty of opportunity for you.
Amazon has a whole site dedicated to its virtual job openings that are available around the world.
The good news is that these positions aren’t just limited to customer service–although those are available as well. These jobs range from Human Resources to sales and even project management.
Simply find a job that fits your qualifications and interests and apply. Some of the most basic job requirements include a high school diploma, internet, and phone.

3. Amazon Mechanical Turk
If you’re not ready to commit to working for Amazon as an employee, you can always freelance with Amazon Mechanical Turk.
Amazon Mechanical Turk (MTurk) is a marketplace that connects freelancers with individuals and businesses who want to outsource tasks.
The costs per task will vary, with some being as low as a penny. I suggest filtering these tasks out and only focusing on those that pay much more. This ensures that you’re picking up quality tasks and are able to make decent money doing so.
You could stand to make a few hundred dollars from this platform each month, depending on how much time you commit to it and the tasks that you complete.
Jarek from Time in the Market uses it as a side hustle and makes about $350 per month by only focusing on tasks that pay $12 or more per hour.
4. Amazon Trade-In Program
An easy way to make money with Amazon is through its Trade-In program. The caveat, however, is that you’ll be paid via Amazon gift cards and not cash.
If you’re ok with getting a gift card, then trade away!
Amazon accepts trade-ins for Kindles, books, cell phones, tablets, and more.
As someone who has a very large book stash, it’s a great way to get rid of clutter while making some cash.
Simply search through the list of items that they are accepting to see how much you can receive. If you find something that you can trade-in, follow the prompts and complete the required information to ship it.
Make sure that your item meets the specifications outlined for it, as Amazon does reserve the right to reject it upon inspection and appraisal. Nonetheless, you can always monitor the status through your trade-in account.
5. Amazon FBA
Another way to make money from home with Amazon is through Amazon FBA, or Fulfillment by Amazon.
Unlike the other ideas mentioned, FBA is designed for business owners. In a gist, Amazon allows you to sell on the platform and they’ll handle fulfillment of goods to your customers.
Unless you’re interested in operating your own e-commerce business, this may not be a viable option for you. Nonetheless, there are tons of resources that will teach you how to sell on Amazon through FBA.
6. Merch by Amazon
If you’re an artist or designer, then Merch by Amazon is the perfect opportunity for you to make money from home while using your skills.
This platform allows you to upload your artwork to be sold on t-shirts that Amazon will produce and fulfill. You’ll earn royalties for every product that is sold.
This process of designing products and having them produced and fulfilled by a third party is called dropshipping.
Unlike other dropshipping sites, Amazon is invitation-only and you will have to request to be invited.

7. Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing
If you’re a writer, publishing a book through Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing is a great way to make money online.
Selling books is one of the main passive income sources that I’ve used to make thousands of dollars over the years. Amazon Kindle Publishing has helped contribute to those sales by allowing me to fulfill both ebooks and hard copies to customers.
This platform allows you to self-publish ebooks and paperback books for free while reaching millions of people on Amazon.
Don’t worry if you’ve never written and published a book before. They provide a whole library of resources that will guide you through the process and help you start making money.
